A short biography..
Naja is a founder of Budo-Yogi, a student in Occupational Therapy, a yogi, globetrotter and multi-linguist. By the age of 27 she has lived in 5 countries and speaks 5 languages (Danish, English, French, German and Portuguese). She is an earth-lover and believes that everything should be as natural and organic as possible. Even though she is a student she is conscious about living organic and healthy and does her best to make it fit into her time and budget. She has a big interest in alternative treatments and seek ways to incorporate these in her Occupational Therapy practice in order to minimize the use of medical treatments. She has attended two workshops regarding yoga therapy (“det samlede barn” and “Get Ready to Learn”), which have provided her with tools to implement yoga and Occupational Therapy in classrooms, private therapy sessions as well as group therapies. Besides this she has experience with habilitation of children with special needs (e.g. microcephaly, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, ADHD and autism), rehabilitation of adults with mental illnesses (e.g. different kinds of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and borderline) and neuro-gerontologie (e.g. arthritis, stroke and dementia). During her experiences she has been working with a wide spectre of methods such as sensory integration, yoga therapy, cognitive therapy, exposure therapy and mirror therapy, and use the Canadian models for a holistic and client-centered practice. Currently she is living in Berlin, where she teach Yin Yoga from time to time, and is studying in Copenhagen, where she will finish her bachelor in January 2017 with a thesis about the use of yoga in Occupational Therapy. When she isn’t busy with her studies in Occupational Therapy, she reads about traditional medicines, makes jewelries, does yoga, meditate, paint, spent time with her loved ones or cook.
